Individual Counselling
New Bridges Counselling offers Individual Counselling to adults and young people aged 13 or over. Appointments last 50 minutes and usually take place once a week, although fortnightly appointments are also available. Individual counselling can be for a fixed number of sessions, or can continue long term, according to your needs.
Counselling is your time. You decide what you want to get out of coming (your goals), what you talk about and how deeply you go into your issues. You will experience a confidential, caring and gently challenging professional relationship in which you may investigate old fears and anxieties, consider new opportunities or ambitions and identify the choices you have in work, study, relationships and life in general.
Counselling can help you to understand your thoughts and feelings more fully, increase your self-confidence and self-worth and improve the quality of your relationships, work, study and leisure time. It can help you to deal with specific problems such as panic attacks or controlling anger, or can offer support to look at more complicated or long-term issues.
